Joining me in this talk will be police chaplains Alex Evans and Tommy McDearis, and retired police lieutenant Kit Cummings, who were among the responders on April 16, 2007, and went on to found the Virginia Law Enforcement Assistance Program. Created in the aftermath of the Virginia Tech shootings, the organization is "committed to serving law enforcement officers and first responders who have undergone traumatic critical incidents in the line of duty or in their personal lives."
